Nas Explains Why He And Biggie Never Got To Do A Song Together

It only took 10 years but we finally had the Queens legend Nas on The Breakfast Club. The Queens MC just dropped his latest Hitboy produced album Kings Disease which features a reunion of The Firm as well as features from A$AP Ferg, Fivio Foreign Don Toliver, Big Sean + More!

On the show today the NYC legend was asked about why he never did a song with Biggie when he was alive and his response was honestly... he got to high in the studio. On top of it all the Queens MC lived out far in Long Island at the time so it just wasn't always in the cards for him to make the move to the city, but he did share with us he was gonna remix some of the records on Biggie's "Ready to Die" album.

"I got too high, I was in the studio and Big was rolling up, and he didn't warn me. There are pictures of that session out there, I was gonna remix some stuff on "Ready To Die". One of the songs was "Gimmie The Loot"

DJ Envy and Nas also cleared the story up of back in the day when Nas pulled out a gun on a 19 year old Envy. The Breakfast Club host explains that he ran up to Nas in Queens and had told him that he had something in his backpack for him (which was just a mixtape) but when he turned back around Nas had pulled out a gun and while the rapper then just left and there was no incident he did explain that this was all before people really knew him and it was during a time when Queens wasn't the safest the place in the city.

"That was before bodyguards before I was used to people recognizing me, that definitely happened a few times, I didn't know you at the time, that's Jamaica Queens and you know volatile Jamaica, Queens is, so love man, love"

Of course we couldn't have Nas on the show without asking him if he would do a Verzuz battle (as we all would love to see him go up against Jay-Z). While he was quiet on if he would do one or not he did tell us that Swizz had approached him to do a battle but didn't share if anything was going to happen anytime soon.
