This is looking serious.
Just because 28 people are named in the indictment doesn't mean all of the charges will stick.
The thing with these RICO cases is they don't need to prove he was directly involved with alleged crimes, just that he had strong ties to those who did.
Law enforcement sources reportedly tipped off TMZ to let the outlet know Young Thug is locked up in Fulton County where he is being charged with multiple felonies including RICO Act violations and alleged participation in criminal street gang activity.
Thug's home was raided by federal agents on Monday. It was a thorough search that included breaking down walls and digging up the earth in his backyard.
Atlanta reporter Michael Seiden of WSB-TV says it’s a 56-count indictment, which names 28 different associates of Thugger’s YSL or Young Slime Life organization. As for Thugger’s role in all of this, he’s accused of renting a vehicle used in the murder of a rival gang member back in 2015.
His lawyer Brian Steel tells CBS News, "Mr. Williams has committed no violation of law, whatsoever. We will fight this case ethically, legally and zealously. Mr. Williams will be cleared." Thug will be in court today.
