Clipse had a major surprise for fans at their show in Los Angeles.
On Saturday, August 23, Pusha T and Malice stunned a packed-out crowd at The Novo when they kicked off their set by bringing out Kendrick Lamar. The Compton native popped out to perform "Chains & Whips" from their critically acclaimed album Let God Sort Em Out. Fans in the audience roared with cheers as soon as K.Dot appeared alongside the Virginia-based duo. After they performed their song, Kendrick told the crowd about his plans to stick around and watch the rest of Clipse's show with them.
“This is our home city," Kendrick said onstage. "It’s such a privilege to be in front of muthaf**kin' legends man.”
It was the first time Clipse and Kendrick Lamar performed their hit song together live. Lamar isn't the only surprise guest who's pulled up to Clipse's tour. Earlier this month, the Thornton brothers invited Pharrell Williams to the stage during their tour stop in Miami Beach. The Virginia natives performed their timeless classics "Grindin'" and "Mr. Me Too" together for the first time in years.
This is Clipse's first tour as a group in over 15 years. Push and Malice, alongside EARTHGANG, kicked things off in Boston at the beginning of August and have had memorable stops in New York City, their hometown of Virginia Beach, Miami Beach, Orlando, Atlanta, plus other major cities. The duo still has a few more cities to go, including Las Vegas, Houston and Chicago, before they wrap things up in Detroit on September 10.
