The Florida Panthers beat the Tampa Bay Lightning 6-2 in Game One of the Best-of-Seven first round playoff series on Tuesday night at Amalie Arena.
Matthew Tkachuck had two goals and an assist to set the pace for the Panthers. He was playing in his first game since suffering a lower-body injury at the 4 Nations Face-Off. The Lightning got a first period goal from Jake Guentzel, as well as a second period goal from Brayden Point, to account for their only offense.
Sergei Bobrovsky made 20 saves in net for the Panthers, while Andrei Vasilevskiy went 10-of-16 in net in the losing effort.
The Lightning will look to bounce back and even the series in game two of the Best-of-Seven series on Thursday. Puck drop between the Lightning and Panthers is scheduled for 6:30 PM on Thursday night at Amalie Arena.
