Ye didn't hold back as he lashed out against his former business partners at adidas.
On Tuesday night, January 7, the artist formerly known as Kanye West posted a screenshot of Google results for his Yeezy brand on Instagram. The photo shows adidas' Yeezy page above his official Yeezy website. In the caption, he called out the sneaker company in a lengthy rant.
"Stop doing this," he wrote. "Stop doing your moves to hold me back Our partnership is done You’re a 60 billion dollar company that froze my accounts Now I’m back on my feet (no pun intended) and I’m not going to stand for this (no pun again)."
"I did phenomenal work for you guys and because I stood up for myself yall tried to intimidate and oppress me everyone remembers I had major issues with adidas because of design theft and oppression before 'the tweet,'" ye continued.
"The tweet" Ye might be referring to is his infamous Twitter post in which he threatened to go "death con 3" on the Jewish community in 2022. The social media website, now known as X, removed the post and suspended the Chicago rapper's account. Ye faced plenty of backlash from fans and critics alike for weeks. His post also ruined his corporate partnerships with adidas, Gap, Balenciaga and others.
Later in his rant, Ye also called out fashion designer Jerry Lorenzo. He called the Fear of God founder "corny and disloyal" after Lorenzo recently inked a fresh deal with adidas.
"Side note yall know Jerry was corny and disloyal for doing work with adidas after the way they handled things," he wrote, "I still showed up to his show that was a copy of my Hollywood bowl show being the so called bigger man but I’m never doing that again for no one It’s Yeezy over everything Everyone that ever took a picture next to me that had their own clothing lines and agendas everyone knows they was acting like they were my friends to promote they weak ass fake Yeezy lines They never wanted to truly work for the king."
Kanye used to be a staunch supporter of the . However, Lorenzo recently revealed that he stopped working with Ye in 2016 amid the artist's shift towards the far-right. Ye showed up to Fear of God's debut fashion show at the Hollywood Bowl in 2023 but Lorenzo said he hadn't spoken to the "Carnival" rapper in over a year. "Anyone that knows Kanye will tell you it's a tough relationship to hold on to," he told the Wall Street Journal.
