Clifford "T.I." Harris and Tameka āTinyā Harris will not be charged with sexual abuse in Los Angeles due to an expired statute of limitations.Ā
According to reports, a woman accused the couple earlier this year of drugging and sexually assaulting her in 2005. Court documents obtained by People show prosecutors with the LA County District Attorneyās Office declined to bring charges against the āWhatever You Likeā rapper and his wife because the case is out of the 10-year statute of limitations period.Ā
āWithout the strength and weakness of the evidence being evaluated, the case is declined due to the expiration of the Statute of Limitations,ā the document reads.Ā
Shawn Holley, an attorney representing the couple, told People in a statement on Thursday (September 16): āMr. and Mrs. Harris are pleased, but not surprised, by the District Attorneyās decision to dismiss these meritless allegations. We appreciate the DAās careful review of the case and are grateful to be able to put the matter behind us and move on.ā
Back in May, the LAPD launched an investigation into the couple after a woman said the two drugged and sexually assaulted her in 2005 during a night out.Ā
At the same time, per the Las Vegas Sun, police officials there were also investigating the couple after another woman accused them of sexually assaulting her in 2010. That case was eventually dropped because the statute of limitations expired.
