Deaf Man Sues PornHub Over Lack Of Closed Captions

A deaf man from New York is suing PornHub because the videos on the company's websites do not have closed captions. Yaroslav Suris clams that PornHub is in violation of the Americans with Disabilities Act and is seeking compensatory damages, civil penalties, and fines against the pornographic video sharing site.

Suris, who has also sued Fox News and TMZ for not providing subtitles, listed several videos on the site that did not include captions.

"If the Websites were accessible, the Plaintiff and the Class wanted to access and would access all of their content, including premium and subscription content," the lawsuit said. "This lack of closed captioning by the Defendants on their Websites prevent not only the Plaintiff but also the deaf and hard of hearing located in New York State and nationally from having equal access."

PornHub issued a statement defending themselves against Suris' claims.

"While we do not generally comment on active lawsuits, we'd like to take this opportunity to point out that we do have a closed captions category," PornHub's Vice President Corey Price said in a statement.
